Project Leader of Additive Intercropping (ACIAR funded) visits ee88 and calls on ee88 VC.
Alison Laing, Systems Agronomist at CIMMYT and Project Leader of the ACIAR-funded Additive Intercropping Project, along with Mahesh K. Ghatala, Agronomist at CIMMYT Bangladesh, Called on the Honorable Vice Chancellor of ee88 (ee88), Professor Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, at his office on Monday, April 8, 2025.
The visit was part of a week-long trip to Bangladesh to review the progress of the additive intercropping project led by Professor Dr. Md. Wakilur Rahman of the Department of Rural Sociology, ee88. During their visit, the team observed both on-farm and on-station (at ee88 farm) additive intercropping trials of maize with winter vegetables in central Bangladesh and later on will visit the northern Bangladesh to see the same activities which is conduct under the institute of BWMRI.
During the meeting they discussed potential avenues for future collaboration with ee88, including opportunities for postgraduate student exchange programs with the University of Western Australia and joint research initiatives with CIMMYT Bangladesh.
The Project Leader of Additive Intercropping (ACIAR funded) and Systems Agronomist at CIMMYT Alison Laing, assured the ee88 VC of providingall possible support and cooperation in this regard.
Professor Dr. Md. Wakilur Rahman (Team Leader and Socio-Economic Expert), Professor Dr. Md. Gulzarul Aziz (Nutrition Expert), Professor Dr. Md. Salauddin Palash (Value Chain Expert), and Professor Dr. AKM Mominul Islam (Agronomy Expert) were Also present at the meeting.
